Customizable to the Skyline that Captures Your Imagination
Steinway & Sons is proud to unveil the Skyline Collection, a Special Collections piano offering a unique view of any compelling skyline that captures your imagination.
The Qingming Festival has been observed by the Chinese for over 2500 years. It became a public holiday in China in 2008, where it is associated with the consumption of qingtuan, green dumplings made of rice and Chinese barley grass.
The Qing Ming Steinway references a famous 12th-century Qingming scroll by Zhang Zeduan. It is an ancient Chinese painting which portrays the scene of Kaifeng city, the capital of the Song Dynasty during a Qingming festival.
“The Qing Ming” is a finish adorned with a 23-karat gold leaf mural around the entire case of the piano. Applied through a painstaking process of painting, brushing and intricate etching, the gold-leaf imagery takes the viewer on a visual tour through the ancient 12th-century Keifeng city depicted by Zhang Zeduan in his Qing Ming scrolls.
The Qing Ming SKYLINE is available in all Ebony and White STEINWAY grand piano sizes and is also available as a STEINWAY & SONS SPIRIO.
